What is Amazon Prime Day?
2017’s Prime Day will be the third of its kind. The first was in the summer of 2015 when Amazon was celebrating its 20th birthday, but it was such a success that it has now become an annual deals event.
Amazon Prime Day is set to be bigger and better than ever, with deals as huge and as plentiful as they are on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. They’re only for Amazon Prime customers, though, so you’ll need to sign up to Amazon Prime or its 30-day free trial to take advantage of the offers.
When is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day will be on 11 July, with deals actually starting slightly ahead of time at 6pm on the 10th.
Amazon Prime Day Deals
Amazon Prime Day is more than a one-day event, though. In the lead up to the day itself, Amazon is offering deals on its services like Prime Video and Amazon Music every day from 5 July. Here’s the schedule on the American store:
- 5 July: Voice Shopping
- 6 July: Amazon Music
- 7 July: Prime Video
- 8 July: Everyday Essentials
- 9 July: Reading with Prime
- 10 July: Prime Day starts in the evening
- 11 July: Prime Day
There’s no official schedule for the UK yet, but you can already get 4 months of Amazon Music Unlimited for 99p ahead of Prime Day.
Today’s deal in the US means that voice shoppers can use their Alexa device to get $20 off Amazon Prime. SImply say “Alexa, sign me up for Prime.” to get the deal.
Ahead of Prime Day, Amazon has teased that 11 July will see at least 30% off a 43in 4K Ultra HD LG Smart TV.
